저와 Jong형이 추진하고 있는 Housing 프로젝트의 가장 목표가 바로 밴쿠버에서 공부하고 있는 학생들에게 저렴한 가격에 머무를 수 있는 건물을 마련하는 것 입니다. 요 수년 사이 밴쿠버에서 거주하는 데 필요한 비용이 많이 증가하였습니다. 그에따라 학비와 거주비용을 맞추려 하다보니 편안히 지낼 수 있는 집을 구하는것이 많이 힘들어졌습니다. 그러한 학생들에게 도움이 되고자 깨끗하고, 안전하면서도 저렴한 거주공간을 마련하기로 했습니다.

저에게 있어 이 프로젝트를 하는것은 제가 한국에 공부하러 다녀 온 이후에 한국이라는 나라, 그곳의 사람과 문화에 많은 감명을 받았기 때문입니다. 한국에서 공부하는 동안 여러 사람들에게서 도움을 받았으며, 맛있는 음식도 많이 먹었고, 추석 단풍구경, 사물놀이, 브레이크 댄스등 여러가지 독특한 한국문화를 알게 되었습니다. 물론 그러한 경험도 제가 한국에 대해 관심을 가지게 된 이유이지만, 유학생이었던 저에게 있어 "Coco LivingTel"과 같은곳이 없었더라면 한국에서 오랫동안 편안하게 공부하며 지낼 수 없었을것이라 생각합니다. 밴쿠버에 돌아온 지금, 한국에서 받았던 감사의 마음을 다시 한국사람에게 돌려주고 싶기에 밴쿠버에 있는 한국 유학생들에게 안전하고 편안하면서도 저렴한 거주지를 제공하는 프로젝트를 구상하게 되었습니다.

Jong형에게 있어 한국이라는 나라는 소중한 나라입니다. 제가 한국어를 처음 배우게 된것도 Jong형에게서 부터입니다. 여러해 동안 함께 친구로 지내면서 여러가지 한국에 대한 지식, 좋은점, 문화, 그리고 한국에 대한 형의 생각을 알려주었습니다. Jong형은 한국인임을 자랑스럽게 생각하고 있으며, 저와 마찬가지로 한국에 도움이 되기 위해 이 프로젝트를 위해 일하고 있습니다.

Housing 프로젝트와 School 프로젝트에서 저희가 추구하고 있는 최종 목표는 한국인들에게 더 많은, 그리고 더 나은 교육기회를 제공하는 것 입니다. 2000년 이후 한국은 세계의 경제 강국으로 부상하고 있습니다. 세계수준의 전자제품, 자동차, 중공업 회사, mp3 플레이어 및 휴대폰과 그 외에도 김연아와 같은 세계적인 스포츠 스타들의 소식이 헤드라인으로 보도되고 있습니다. 해외에서 공부하고 있는 한국인 유학생들에게 더 나은 교육기회를 제공함으로써 미래의 한국 또한 더욱 세계화된 국가가 될것이며, 그로인해 한국뿐만이 아니라 세계 여러국가의 평화와 번영에 기여 할 수 있을 것이라 믿습니다.

첫번째: 장소 찾기
광역 밴쿠버 중심의 공원이 있는 안전한 거주지역이며, 다운타운까지 갈 수 있는 교통편이 가까운곳을 위주로 찾습니다.

두번째: 설계 및 개발
현재 부동산중개인, 개발자, 건축설계가, 회계사, 엔지니어들과 함께 Housing 프로젝트를 진행하고 있습니다. 각 분야의 전문가들과 함께 여러 다른 지역의 장소를 조사하는 중입니다. 조사 내용으로는 가장 우선적으로 Housing 프로젝트의 목적에 적합한지, 그리고 건물 매입, 리노베이트 및 유지비용은 얼마나 소요될것인지 조사하는 중입니다. 그리하여 저렴하면서도 양질의 서비스를 유지하는 범위 내에서 월별 비용을 산출하게 될것입니다.

현재 저희 프로젝트의 스폰서쉽과 투자기회를 항상 열어두고 있습니다.

밴쿠버에서 공부하게 될 젊은 한국의 학생들에게 교육적인 성장과 발전을 위해 도와주고 싶으신 분들을 위해 기부 및 스폰서쉽 지원 프로그램을 마련했습니다. 스폰서쉽은 저희 웹사이트 및 브로셔, 비지니스 카드에서 스폰서분의 광고를 해 드리며, 뿐만 아니라 공여가 가장 큰 스폰서분을 위해 학생들의 거주빌딩에서 또한 광고를 하게 됩니다. 그리고 첫번째 건물의 이름은 가장 많이 기부를 해주신 분의 이름을 따라서 짓게 될 것 입니다.

투자에 관심이 있으신분들께
투자자들을 보호방편의 일환으로 투자자들에 대한 투자금 고정금리 모기지 상환 플랜을 제공하고 있습니다. 학생들이 매월 내는 금액으로 투자자분들께서 투자하신 자금에 대한 상환이 일정 기간 이내에 이뤄 질 것입니다. 모기지 프로그램의 이자율이 학생들이 내게 될 비용에 직결되므로, 저희 프로젝트에서는 모기지 상환에 대한 이율이 일정이상 높아지지 않도록 하고있습니다. 그렇지만 학생들을 위해 더 낮은 이자율을 선택하실 수 도 있습니다.

그 뿐만 아니라, Housing 프로젝트의 상위 투자자분들께는 저희 회사의 스톡옵션 기회 또한 준비되어 있습니다.

One of the large projects that Jong and I are working on is building affordable housing for Korean students staying in Vancouver. We understand that these days it is very difficult for students to afford to go to school and stay in a comfortable home. That is why we are going to create clean, modern, safe, and affordable housing for Korean students.

For me, the reason is that after I went to Korea to study, I truly fell in love with the country, its people, and its culture. During my time there, people were so kind to me, and I always got to eat delicious food and enjoy a lot of fun cultural events and activities like Chuseok, fall autumn leaf watching in Jeolla-buk do, samulnori, break dancing and many other unique Korean things. On top of this, thanks to places like 'Coco LivingTel,' I was able to live and study in a safe, comfortable and affordable place. Now, it is my turn to give something back to Korea. That is why, similar to Coco LivingTel, I want to create the same kind of safe, comfortable and affordable place for Korean students to study and live in Vancouver.

For Jong, well, Jong loves Korea a lot. In fact, he was the one who first taught me Korean language. Every day, he shared his knowledge and love of Korea and Korean culture, and through that I also started to share his passion for Korea. Jong is very proud of being a Korean, and I know that, similar to me, he is working on this project to show his love for his home country.

Our ultimate purpose in both this project, and our school project, is to make education more accessible to Korean people. Right now, Korea is becoming one of the major economic powers in the world. It is making headlines with its first-class electronics, automobile, and heavy industry companies, sports with world-class athletes like Kim Yuna, and technology with mp3 players and advanced cell-phone technology. Through giving Korean international students and immigrants access to information about high-quality schools, great services and safe, affordable housing, we believe that we can help Korean people achieve great success while studying abroad in Vancouver. As the quality and amount of education increases, Korea will become an even more globalized country and as a result Korea's economic power and international relations will improve. Eventually, this will lead to more global understanding, and, we hope, to peace and prosperity not only with Korea but with the rest of the world.

Step One: Finding a location
We are looking at houses in the greater Vancouver area that are central in location, and offer safe neighbourhoods, access to parks and most important access to transit which can take them downtown to their schools.

Step two: Planning and development
We currently have real estate agents, developers, architects, accountants and engineers who are volunteering with us to create affordable housing for Korean students. With these people, we are looking at many different buildings and gauging how well each building will suit our needs, and the estimated costs for purchasing, renovating and maintaining each building. Furthermore, we are calculating the estimated monthly fee for students and trying to design a plan that will allow us to offer high quality housing at affordable prices.

Step three: Sponsorship and investor opportunities
We are currently offering sponsorship and investor opportunities for those who would like to become part of our project.

Donations and Sponsorship
For those interested in supporting the growth and educational development of the young Korean students who come here to study through donations or sponsorship, we have sponsorship packages available in appreciation of your support. Sponsorship packages include exclusive advertising space on our website and rights to advertise in our brochures and business cards. In addition to this, the top sponsor will receive exclusive rights to advertise in our residences, and our first residence will even be named after the sponsor who donates the most capital.

For Those Interested in Investing
To ensure safety and security of our investors' investments, we are implementing a private mortgage plan where investors will receive fixed-rate interest on their investment based on the monthly payments of the students residing at our residences. As we are trying to keep costs as low as possible for the students residing with us, and the interest rate has a direct effect on the monthly amount that students will pay, we have set a maximum interest rate to ensure that the students' monthly rates will stay affordable. However, if the investor feels that they would like to opt for a lower rate of interest so as to make the housing more affordable for the students, which is also possible.

Furthermore, depending on the amount invested, we will be awarding stock options to investors in our main company. Stock options are very limited and will only be made available to those who invest substantial capital in our housing project.
